 on in automotive headlamps is the introduction of high resolution LED matr
 ix light sources. This new technology provides a new level of control over
  the light distribution in front of the vehicle. Safetiy is improved by dr
 iving with high-beam enabled\, while other vehicles are selectively exclud
 ed to avoid unnecessary glare. In addition\, new assistance functions are 
 enabled\, like road projection of guiding lines. The presentation will exp
 lain the various functions of a modern headlamp\, as well as the technical
  solutions and optical challenges behind it. The new high resolution LED m
 atrix light source EVIYOS from ams OSRAM is introduced as key element of r
 ealizing an advanced automotive headlamp.\n\n&nbsp\;\n#2 GLASS SUBSTITUTIO

 r glass combination for a lens desing remains challenging. In most cases\,
  optical designers can rely on aberration theory\, previous experience\, a
 nd global optimization algorithms. The talk will highligh one more possibl
 e tool for glass substitution- sensitivity analysis. Using surface aberrat
 ions contributions\, it can predict a better glass for color and monochrom
 atic aberrations correction.\n\n&nbsp\;\n#3 REFRACTIVE MICRO-OPTICS FOR AU
 TOMOTIVE ILLUMINATION\nDmitrii Stefanidi\, Scientific Researcher at Depart
 ment of optical and mechanical system\, Fraunhofer IOF\n\nAutomotive light
 ing poses increasing optical challenges\, particularly in achieving compac
 t systems. Current headlamp design trends call for a "slit-like" module ap
 pearance with a system height &lt\; 20 mm\, while still requiring high tra
 nsmission and low-cost manufacturing. Absorption-free double-sided irregul
 ar microlens arrays offer a good solution for compcat illumination\, enabl
 ing flexible beam shaping for single or multiple LEDs. In this talk he wil
 l give an insight into this approach and how it can be applied to various 
 applications including headlights\, automotive interior lighting and exter
