12th edi­tion of the indus­try report in spring 2023 – Com­pre­hen­sive report on the eco­no­mic situa­tion and deve­lo­p­ment of skil­led workers in the opti­cal indus­try in Thuringia

Next Mon­day (Janu­ary 16, 2023), the sur­veys for our Opto­Net PHOTONICS Report 2023 will start. This year, the 115 mem­ber com­pa­nies and ano­ther 100 com­pa­nies of the pho­to­nics indus­try will be sur­veyed again.

For almost a year now, the Ukraine cri­sis has overs­ha­dowed glo­bal world events and is having a noti­ceable impact on the eco­nomy and society, such as increased energy costs and increased infla­tio­nary pres­sure. Tog­e­ther with the after­math of the Corona pan­de­mic and the wor­sening skil­led labor pro­blem, many com­pa­nies con­ti­nue to ope­rate in a very chal­len­ging environment.

Against this back­ground, Opto­Net e.V. would like to repre­sent your inte­rests on a state and natio­nal level in a tar­ge­ted man­ner: this year, we are the­r­e­fore par­ti­cu­larly asking for your assis­tance in order to be able to depict a resi­li­ent mood of our industry.

The Insti­tute of Socio­logy at the FSU Jena will con­duct the sur­veys on our behalf and arrange indi­vi­dual inter­view appoint­ments in the coming days. The tele­phone sur­vey will take about 25 minutes.

In spring of this year, we will com­pile and publish the results of the sur­vey in a report as usual.

We would like to thank all mem­bers and part­ners in advance for their par­ti­ci­pa­tion. Thanks to their sup­port, we have been able to publish a com­pre­hen­sive set of figu­res on the pho­to­nics indus­try in Thu­rin­gia since 2001, which has attrac­ted con­sidera­ble natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal attention.
