Integrating international professionals into the workplace and everyday life can be a major challenge. Living in Germany presents many tasks and hurdles for people from other countries. A key factor for successful collaboration, both professionally and personally, is mastering the local language. OptoNet has developed a new program designed to support your international employees in easing their integration.

Advanced German (B2)

In our 10-day German course, comprising a total of 40 lessons, participants will explore and practice various aspects of the German language. Particular emphasis is placed on applying these skills in both professional and everyday contexts. The goal is to enable participants to use the language more independently, confidently, and appropriately in different situations.

Core course content

  • Communication in the professional environment: Industry-specific conversations, exchange with potential cooperation partners, etc.
  • Everyday language in Germany: Communicating with friends, discussing more complex everyday topics, etc.
  • Specialist literature: Working with scientific and journalistic texts, levels of formality across different text types, etc.
  • Cross-company exchange: Collaboration with other professionals in the photonics industry, gaining new perspectives, etc.
  • Grammar, vocabulary & expressions (B2): Audience-appropriate language, process and state passive, two-part connectors, subjunctive I and II, subjective use of modal verbs, etc.
  • Presentation skills: Presenting work-related topics, responding to questions, participating in discussions, etc.

Prior to joining OptoNet, he worked for many years as a German teacher in integration courses as well as vocational and specialized language courses across levels A1–C2, and has completed a wide range of additional qualifications in this field. He has also worked as an examiner for general integration and vocational language courses up to level C1 and brings extensive experience working with people of different ages, backgrounds, and nationalities.
