The cluster’s pho­to­nic tech­no­lo­gies are part of inter­na­tio­nal value chains, and the com­pa­nies have an average export quota of 70%. Not only in exports, but also in sup­plier rela­ti­ons and rese­arch coope­ra­ti­ons are glo­bally ori­en­ted. Clus­ter inter­na­tio­na­li­sa­tion is the­r­e­fore a cen­tral com­po­nent of the acti­vi­ties of OptoNet.

Accor­ding to the results of the cur­rent Opto­Net PHOTONICS Report, the mar­kets in Europe, North Ame­rica and incre­asingly China are of great importance for the mem­ber com­pa­nies of the Thu­rin­gian Pho­to­nics Association.

Europe is the main sales mar­ket for Thu­rin­gian pho­to­nics com­pa­nies. The inten­si­fi­ca­tion of coope­ra­tive rela­ti­onships and joint stra­te­gic pro­jects with Euro­pean part­ner regi­ons are inten­ded to sup­port the exis­ting busi­ness rela­ti­onships of the mem­bers, but above all to iden­tify new sales potential.

Opto­elec­tro­nics, which is strong in South Korea, offers fields of work for Ger­man com­pon­ents and pro­duc­tion technologies.
