At the end of the year, we are loo­king for­ward to the last vir­tual mem­ber mee­ting and intro­duce our new addi­ti­ons – the start-up orbit Sen­sor­fu­sion and the Ger­man Opti­cal Museum – at ›Opto­Net live‹. Fur­ther­more, there will be news from the office, a short review of the past year and of course the first dates for 2023!

Sen­sor­fu­sion is the intel­li­gent mer­ging of data from mul­ti­sen­sors or sen­sor net­works to achieve the extra­c­tion of infor­ma­tion of bet­ter qua­lity, hig­her accu­racy or relia­bi­lity. The very young start-up from Jena is also new to the mem­ber­ship and will pre­sent the busi­ness model and poten­tial appli­ca­tion examples.

Ger­man Opti­cal Museum Foundation

Pro­gress is being made on the con­ver­sion of the Ger­man Opti­cal Museum: with a renow­ned team of archi­tects, artists and light­ing desi­gners, plan­ning is under­way on the way to an inter­ac­tive world of expe­ri­ence in optics and pho­to­nics. Timo Map­pes reports on the cur­rent imple­men­ta­tion sta­tus and gives us an insight into the visi­ons sur­roun­ding the new ›iden­tity anchor‹ in Jena.
